Application to join the Association of Serviced Apartment providers

We currently have two membership categories.

Provider Member, this is for companies that operate and manage service apartments
Agent Member - this is for companies that do not operate and manage serviced apartments directly but act as an agent and book serviced apartments on behalf of others.

A company may if they wish apply to be both a provider and agent if they wish to do so and meet the criteria for both membership types. This will mean two membership fees as per the fee structure.

We ask both membership types to abide by the ASAP code of conduct and the requirement specific to each membership type.

AS A PROVIDER MEMBER YOU WILL:

Receive assistance from the Association, should this be required.
Be entitled to an entry on the ASAP website
Receive the Association's newsletter.
Have full voting rights.
Be entitled to use the Association’s logos on any printed material or in any advertisement.
Be invited to attend any regional or national meetings, seminars and conferences.
Participate in the industry occupancy and rate data surveys

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION AS A PROVIDER MEMBER

To have operated as a serviced apartment provider for a minimum of 3 months
To be nominated by an existing member of ASAP
To have agreed to the members code of conduct
To provide other information that may assist the Membership Committee when considering your application
To provide information and evidence if required that you/your firm have all the requisite Insurances necessary for your business activity including Public Liability.
To be available for an inspection of your apartments if requested

AS AN AGENT MEMBERS YOU WILL:

Have businesses that are substantially involved in the booking of serviced apartments – for all agent members this will mean the majority of their business turnover
Represent operators’ properties accurately and in full agreement with operators
The agent will not offer out rates that are lower than those offered and quoted to them by the operator (not to reduce rate by allowing part of their commission in the form of a discount)
The Agent will act as a disclosed agent for TOMs purposes and not act as an undisclosed agent.
Agents will abide by the rules and code of conduct of the ASAP
An agent will not operate any apartments – in the event they start doing so their membership status may be required to change and the steering membership will determine the category and level of membership
Abide by any decision made by the Association board (steering committee) as a result of any dispute which has subsequently escalated to the Board to arbitrate on
To have operated as a serviced apartment agent for a minimum of three months

ENTITLEMENTS OF MEMBERSHIP AS AN AGENT MEMBER

Vote on issues with same rights as a member
Be able to send staff to attend the annual conference
Attend general meetings
Can be elected to join the steering committee
Head up a working ASAP group/committee
Website listing details of agent’s services, but not be listed on the location map – coverage will be described only in their company description.
