Travel less and buy ‘sustainable’ aviation fuel – corporates’ top sustainability tactics

According to a Business Travel Show Europe poll of more than 100 travel buyers, new survey results, the two most popular means of mitigating the environmental impact of corporate travel programmes are investing in alternative aviation fuels (55%) and travelling less (54%).

Published ahead of Earth Day (22 April), the survey also showed that 73% of buyers build sustainability into their travel programmes, with 46% limiting travel choices to less carbon-intensive options, and 44% giving travellers information on their carbon footprint.

27% do not currently consider sustainability in their travel programme, citing lack of senior management commitment, cost and inadequate technology as significant hurdles.
