UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada Among Top Choices for Indian Outbound Travel

The Allianz Travel Index 2025 offers a comprehensive view of the shifting travel behavior of Indian consumers, revealing a renewed appetite for international exploration, especially to the UK and Europe, and a rising focus on travel protection, safety, and financial planning.

This reflects India’s long-standing cultural, familial, and aspirational connections with Europe, further reinforced by visa liberalization in select countries.

The Index reports that 85% of Indians intending to travel are likely to purchase travel insurance, 61% purchasing insurance primarily for peace of mind and personal security. When asked what matters most during travel, Indians highlighted entertainment as a top priority, followed by preparedness in case of lost luggage.

The Travel Index confirms that the lucrative Indian travel market is evolving rapidly, with travellers blending ambition with caution, and aspirations with planning.
