Singapore serviced apartment operator charged over letting private homes for short-term rental

Singapore accommodation service provider International Service Apartments (ISA) and three of its senior management staff were charged in court this week over illegally providing short-term accommodation in private residential properties.

Under the Planning Act, it is an offence to convert the use of a property for short-term accommodation without the approval of the Urban Redevelopment Authority.

Offenders may be fined up to S$200,000 on each charge, in this case nine charges were brought.
